National Hills is located in Augusta and situated in a supportive residential neighborhood. Through the years National Hills has earned a reputation of academic excellence. The faculty and staff have worked hard to make National Hills a place where children love to come to school, where learning is our number one priority, and where close relationships are maintained with our parents and community. National Hills Elementary School, which first opened its doors to children in 1964, currently has an average enrollment of 259 students in Pre-K through 5th grade. Our faculty and staff members are professionals who are dedicated to helping every child experience academic success and develop positive attitudes regarding learning. To accomplish this, we focus on the individual needs of each student and view school as a hub of learning and critical thinking. All of our pedagogical talents and assets are directed toward helping our students reach their fullest academic potential. Through creative teaching strategies and teacher commitment, students receive a firm foundation in reading, math, science, and social science. At National Hills, we constantly strive for academic excellence in a student-centered learning environment. National Hills Elementary has attained Annual Yearly Progress, (AYP) status for six consecutive years. We strongly encourage parental involvement because we acknowledge the positive influence of the home/school alliance on the success of our students.
