Mission Statement

    The mission of National Hills Elementary is to create knowledgeable students with the necessary skills and attitudes to think independently, maximize their academic potential,  become proficient in problem-solving, and meet the challenges of the future successfully.

    Daily Announcements

    Deron Hicks, author of The Shakespeare Mysteries, visited 4th and 5th grade students at NHE on Monday, March 23rd. Mr. Hicks, a graduate of Evans High School, encouraged students to learn more about the most influential author in the English language. Thanks to The Book Tavern for sponsoring the visit!

    Here is the list of nominees for the Georgia Children's Book Award. Students who will be in 4th,  5th, or 6th grade in the fall of 2015, should consider these titles for summer reading. These are the books that students will read for the  the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl in Jan. 2016. Start early!

    Field Day is May 8th!

    Deanna Brown, daughter of The Hardest Working Man in Show Business and Augusta native, James Brown, tells National Hills students they must LEARN to EARN an education as part of the school's observation of Black History Month.

    4th and 5th graders attended a beautiful concert by Symphony Orchestra Augusta February 12th.  Students collaborated with singing and recorders.

    Congratulations to Amelia Barnes for being named National Hills Elementary Teacher of the Year 2014-15!

    The Board of Education has voted to merge the two schools beginning the 2015-16 school year. Mrs. LaJuana Quarles has been named the prinicpal of the combined schools beginning the 2014-15 school year, with Cindy Scoggins as the vice-principal.
