Mission Statement

    The mission of National Hills Elementary is to create knowledgeable students with the necessary skills and attitudes to think independently, maximize their academic potential,  become proficient in problem-solving, and meet the challenges of the future successfully.


    Daily Announcements

    Calendar orders are due by November 3rd. Each month will feature one homeroom. Calendars are $10 and company advertising is $25.

    Don't be SCARED to run a mile on Saturday, October 25th at Garrett Elemetnary. Be there by 8:15 to check in. The one-mile run begins at 9 am.

    Here are the new nominees for the 2015 Georgia Book Award and the titles for the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl!

    National Hills and Garrett Elementary Schools collected 1,057 pounds of food which was included in the neighborhood total of 2,949 pounds. Way to make a difference!

    Oct. 27-31 is Red Ribbon Week!
    Monday -- Turn your back on drugs: Students wear t-shirts backwards
    Tuesday -- Put a cap on drugs: Hat day!
    Wednesday -- Team up against drugs: wear a team jersey
    Thursday: Too smart to use drugs: students wear red t-shirts
    Friday -- Drugs are spooky: Have a safe and drug free Halloween!

    Here is information regarding the proposal to merge National Hills with Garrett Elementary

    The Board of Education has voted to merge the two schools beginning the 2015-16 school year. Mrs. LaJuana Quarles has been named the prinicpal of the combined schools beginning the 2014-15 school year, with Cindy Scoggins as the vice-principal.

    Congratulations to Amelia Barnes for being named National Hills Elementary Teacher of the Year 2014-15!
